Kenpo Across Coasts

The Weekend of July 15-16, 2016 was filled with great Kenpo knowledge at the Shaolin American Self Defense Academy. Our dojo hosted the first west coast Brotherhood of Kenpo event. Starting with a Friday night line ran by Grandmaster Yoshio Furyua, followed by a full day of seminars for kids and adults, students were filled up with Kenpo concepts. The kids had the chance to experience a class with 7th Degree Black Belt, Dan Meck and the adults learned from Brian Saul, Dan Meck, Grandmaster Yoshio Furyua, Sibora Chan and Scott Halsey. These gentlemen traveled from a far to share their knowledge and we are so thankful for such a great weekend.

 

To finish of this momentous event, our very own Sensei Donnie Jeffcoat was promoted to 4th Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo in front of all of his students. This was a special piece of the day for everyone to be a part of. So great to see so many wonderful kenpoists come out and work together. Can’t wait until the next one. Salute!
