Kenpo/ Escrima Seminar

The VALIDO Academy of Martial Arts, in partnership with the Shaolin American Self Defense Academy will be presenting a seminar taught by none other than Sensei Gerry!! The “American Kenpo-Giron® Arnis Escrima Connection” Seminar will showcase the parallels between the two arts, AND give the Kenpoist a higher level of skill in handling edged and impact weaponry. Offensive and defensive techniques will be covered using stick, blade and empty hand.

Sensei Gerry Valido is a 20 year veteran of the martial arts, holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Kenpo, and is the Certified Affiliate Representative for Bahala Na® Martial Arts International in the Los Angeles area. Sensei Gerry is a senior student in Giron® Arnis Escrima, and has been directly trained by the late Grandmaster Tony Somera. Sensei Gerry is one of only a handful of people in the world that trains in both American Kenpo and Giron Arnis Escrima. His unique viewpoints on the parallels between both arts is something he is happy to share with his American Kenpo family, and further expose the beauty and combat effectiveness of this piece of his Filipino-American culture.
